Lime Kiln Opening Details

The Lime Kilns are open to visitors on Sundays only.

The first Sunday of each month (May to October) is our regular Visit Days were the general public are able to visit the whole of the Waterworks site, including the Lime Kilns, for a small charge. Guided tours of the works and the Kilns are on offer and as many of the working exhibitions will be in operation as possible. This includes the rope pulled incline railway and the lime mixing machine.

Each other Sunday of each month are Working Sundays. Interested members of the pubic are able to visit but not all parts of the Waterworks will be open, only those with work currently being undertaken in then. This includes the Lime Kilns. If you plan to come on a Working Sunday, it is advisable that you email via the link on the home page of this site and ask if the kilns will be open on the Sunday you plan to visit.
